High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Wow, not all Applebee's are the same is what I learned tonight. This one had great service and delicious food. Waitress was just the right amount of attentive, and fixed me a big diet coke to go at no charge at the end of the meal. Nice touch, as I was headed back to my hotel room to catch up on work, and the caffeine was appreciated. I had an appetizer trio meal and it was probably a trillion calories, but it was delicious. Won ton chicken tacos, mini cheeseburger, and melted beer cheese with pretzels for dipping. I'm in a fat/carb coma right now, but lucid enough to rave about this Applebee's.

The last several times we have eaten at the west Lafayette or the Lafayette location, we have been far from impressed. Tonight's server, Susan, passed by our table multiple times before taking our drink order. Which was 16 minutes after we sat down. When she finally did, she was somewhat rude and not friendly which surprised me in a waitress. The last dish we ordered was the 4 cheese chicken mac and cheese. It was the worst meal we had eaten at any Applebee's. The manager was aware that our food was floating in an awful tasting juice/sauce. Our food is cold every time. Appetizers and entree. The menu in the evening is over priced. We unfortunately received several gift cards for here for Christmas. We will not be eating here again other then maybe appetizers to use the gift cards.

Applebees used to be the "go-to" place for our family. We frequently used car side to go. It is really going downhill. The last three times our meal was wrong or part was missing. Tonight my husband's full size chicken Caesar salad had THREE pieces of chicken ( we are not exaggerating )and my dressing was missing. I called to let them know but I didn't want to go back or didn't want a coupon for next time. Their quality assurance personnel are non-existent. As convenient as their location is , we won't be back.

I love how well prepared everything is here. I've been to plenty of other Applebee's across the country and none taste nearly as good as this one (strange huh?)

This is a sit down chain restaurant with good hours and service. For normal meals it is too pricy for most students, but they do have $3.99 appetizers after 9pm Sun-Thurs. It is also a place to get booze on Sundays, when Indiana law restricts the sale of alcohol.

I love the cocktails. It's a little bit on the pricey side for students, so it's not a place to come for dinner very often but every time I have, I've enjoyed my meal =)

I am such a huge unbelieveable fan of Applebee's now just because of this place. The boyfriend, his friend, and I were looking for somewhere to go a few nights ago because we were bored, wanting alcohol, and knew there was not much to do in Otterbein. We come to Applebees and had some of the most amazing service ever (I emailed Applebees about it yo!). Our waitress - Susan was kind, suggestive of menu items, attentive, and always had refills coming for us. The prices of the late night happy hour were awesome (1/2 price apps with a 1/2 price drink purchase) - for $8 (not including tip) you could get some very filling potato wedges and a Long Island ice tea. I sampled plenty of drinks here (haha) and was a fan of the Long Island Ice Tea, Pomegranate Margarita (on the rocks), Strawberry Margarita (blended). The Sliders on the appetizer menu were also delicious, but only if you're a fan of onions. They came with diced onions so my boyfriends little brother was not a fan. The potato wedges and the teriyaki wings were both also really good. In the span of a week I visited this Applebees several times and always had fantastic service and a very good bill. I'm a big fan.

In the past I have enjoyed Applebees including this one. Not very good this time. Come to think of it, the last time was about a year ago at this locale and it was marginal. The thing that makes these chain type of restaurant enjoyable is that you can go into any one multiple times and you will get the same taste. You know what to expect. Not this time. We were in a party of about 15. No one loved the meal. A few said it was ok. My wife ate none of hers and I ate about half out of hunger. Service was terrible, but he was new and was trying. I will give them a pass for that. I think the management did give him to much as he had several tables. I'll give them one more shot for all the previous years of enjoyment. Heck applebees is where I toke my wonderful wife on our first date almost 20 years ago. Maybe we are getting more or too picky? We have been travel living for about 6 years and had the opportunity to dine from some of the best chefs. Our old favorites in Lafayette are not so favorite anymore. I feel the quality has fallen. Most just dont give a shit what they serve. Pepe's used to be a favorite. I practically lived their during college. Last 3 meals were not good and it will be a long time before we go back. There are several places that used to be favorites, but now cant even hit the ok mark.

Food is good. Service is OK but it is way too slow. We were here at seven, waited for 10 minutes to be seated and finished at about 8:45. We just ordered regular food like steak and there were not too many people in the restaurant.

This place is sub par. I ordered the peppered sirloin with grains and the steak was well done. Not my style and wasn't enjoyable, but I was starving and devoured it. The service was polite and professional, but keep in mind when ordering liquor, they use a jigger, so I would recommend sticking to beer. The dessert with churros looked awesome, and I ended up ordering that out of curiosity. I think chain food is suitable and some of their items have potential. I'd come back due to the location but would rethink my order.

Incredibly slow service tonight - small staff. The food was marginal. The new menu items are often good when they first introduce them. Unfortunately any attempts to remake these new items is disastrous!! No quality control here.

It's Applebee's. With that said, this one's okay. It's clean and decent looking. The food is okay I always get the bourbon steak and it's delicious. Their appetizers are also pretty good, especially the half priced ones after 9pm. Their soup, however, is disgusting. Both the chicken tortilla and french onion are awful and the waitstaff seemed to agree. The only big issue I had is that no matter what waiter I have, they take forever to refill your drink. I legit had time to finish my meal before they brought me a second lemonade. I think they do that on purpose so you don't drink as much as you want and they can save some money.

Positives: nice interior, drinks from bar good Negatives: drinks slow, waiter slow, got no silverware, spinach and artichoke dip is terrible, fish is dry, baked potato dry, mashed potatoes cold, steak not cooked to specification, service not great. When manager asked, he advised that he cannot do anything about quality of the food. This place is a joke and deserves my title "CRAPPLEBEES"!

I've given them several tries, but after the sleepless night I had, I'm done. I ordered DECAF coffee, but from the jitters and lack of sleep, it was not decaf. I also ordered a cheese burger that arrived without the cheese. The server pretty much ignored us even though there were like 5 tables in the whole place. Never going back.

Service was terrible, 1st steak was the bourbon street, it can out cold and not sizzling, changed to NY strip, it came out white and raw.. Unfriendly staff, won't be back
